Lima, Peru, May 27, 2011 – World No.1 Brazil face a tough 2011 FIVB Volleyball Women’s Junior World Championship group alongside Serbia, Cuba and Italy in Pool B as the Drawing of Lots for the biennial competition was completed in Lima, Peru on Thursday.

The tournament will be held in the South American country from July 22 to 31 and will see 16 teams battle it out for top spot on the podium.

Defending champions Germany will not be attending but silver medallists from the last outing in Mexico, the Dominican Republic do return and they begin their campaign against Japan. Joining them in Pool D are China and Russia.

Elsewhere, hosts Peru are in Pool A and will take on Egypt in their opening match while Tunisia face Slovakia.

2010 Youth Olympic Games gold medallists Belgium will face silver medallists from the same tournament, USA in what should be a mouth watering encounter while Korea battle Poland.

The Drawing of the Lots was attended by a number of local Ambassadors, Government Officials as well as the media.

The top two teams from each pool will move onto two new pools of four before the first and second ranked teams from each group move onto the semifinals.
